“Inspiration Comes Naturally” is the slogan at Coutura Design Inspirations; a design center in Colorado Springs, CO that provides its patrons with all of their residential design needs. The facility caters to people looking to equip or renovate their homes with the best-of-the-best, and they do this by creating showrooms and “vignette” areas to display the upscale merchandise they have to offer.

In their Home Electronics department, Coutura partnered up with HomeRun Electronics, a local A/V systems integration firm that has been in business for nearly a decade now. Mike Vann, who chose to implement over 50 Tannoy loudspeakers throughout the showrooms at Coutura, heads the company.  “Although the showrooms are primarily residentially focused, our choice of a strong commercial audio product like Tannoy loudspeakers makes great sense for this application due to their exceptional detail and imaging,” explains Vann.

Previous experience helped Vann’s team determine the placement of all the speakers. For example, in areas where the ceiling was exposed, Tannoy’s Di5t compact surface-mount speakers were installed. This decision ensured a wide and controlled dispersion of coverage with its point-source configuration of the 4.5-inch Tannoy ICT (Inductive Coupling Technology) driver’s mid-bass and tweeter sections.  However, in the outdoor area, the Di5 speakers were placed with water resistant enclosures, so that they function properly despite the elements.

HomeRun Electronics’ showrooms occupy 2,500 square feet at Coutura.  They are divided into four demonstration areas: home theater, two-channel/traditional audio, a living area, and a general loudspeaker demo area.
